You should be able to edit your own site
Changing opening hours, prices, photos or a paragraph of text should never require a developer invoice. If your site makes simple edits impossible, that's a failing of the build, not of you — and worth raising. Our WordPress builds are designed so the owner can handle everyday edits confidently.
The safe zone: content
Text, images, prices, blog posts, testimonials, opening hours — all safe to edit through your site's admin area. The habit that keeps it safe: change one thing, check the page on your phone, then move on. Problems are easy to spot and undo when you change one thing at a time.

The caution zone: design and layout
Page builders make it possible to drag things around — and possible to make a page look broken on mobile while looking fine on your screen. If you adjust layout, always check the result on a phone afterwards. When a page starts looking wrong and you can't see why, stop and ask rather than layering on more fixes.
The leave-it-alone zone
Plugin settings you don't recognise, anything mentioning code, theme files, and deleting plugins you're unsure about — these are how sites actually break. A good rule: if the screen you're looking at has a warning triangle or says 'advanced', it's not for routine edits.
Before anything big: backup and a second opinion
For anything beyond routine text and photo edits — new pages, menu changes, plugin installs — make sure a recent backup exists first. And if your site is business-critical, a modest maintenance arrangement is usually cheaper than one emergency repair.
