The honest range
Logo pricing spans an enormous range. DIY tools and template sites cost little or nothing. Freelance designers commonly charge somewhere in the £50–£300 range for a straightforward logo. An experienced professional or small studio typically charges from around £300 into four figures when research, variations and brand guidelines are included. Prices vary with experience and scope — treat any figure as a guide, not a quote.
What you should actually receive
A proper logo package includes the design in multiple file formats — crucially a vector file that scales to any size — plus colour and monochrome versions, and files sized for social media. Better packages add simple usage guidelines so your brand stays consistent. Our logo and branding work always includes the full set.

Why the vector file matters
Your logo will appear on a business card and possibly a van. Only a vector file scales between them without turning to mush. If a designer delivers one flattened JPEG and calls it done, you don't own a logo — you own a picture of one.
Red flags
Prices so low the work must be templated. No source files. 'Unlimited revisions' used as a substitute for a proper brief. And any designer who never asks about your business, customers or competitors — the questions are the work.
Logo vs full brand identity
A logo alone is fine when you're starting out. A full identity — colours, typography, tone, guidelines — becomes worth it once your business appears in many places at once: website, vehicles, uniforms, packaging, social media. Consistency across all of those is what makes a small business look established.
Where your logo earns its keep
Judge a logo by its working life: on your website, on an invoice, embroidered on a shirt, at a glance on a passing van. The best logo is the one that still works in all of those places five years from now.
